Auguri to Il Cantuccio, a new bakery in the Village. We went to the opening last week. Actually, it is the second opening we attended at Il Cantuccio. The first one, last year, did not happen because of a fire. This time, we really wanted to make sure and Martina, Stefano and I went to say hello to Chiara Carfi who organized this opening wonderfully and invited us. We met and said hello to our new friends, the owners and master bakers: Simone (at left), Lorenzo and Camilla. They are from Prato, hence the Cantucci (I loved the ones with big chunks of chocolate, inside), their specialty and the name of the place. But they also make great focaccia and bread. Good luck to Il Cantuccio! All the bad luck is behind you and NY will give you only good things. Bravi!
